FINALLY Bob Sinclar released the official video of his new summer anthem “Feel the Vibe” which features soulful vocals of Dawn Tallman. I've been waiting for the song and video to officially drop for MONTHS and it's at long last here. The video features some stellar voguing and I see it as an ode to the LGBT community. Love it all.
Le Youth's Cool California Style
I love Le Youth’s California cool style that translates directly into his music. His bio lists his sound as “breezy California vibes touched by a twist of European flair and an air of mystery.” Spot on.
Last week Le Youth released his latest refreshing track called “Touch” that falls right in line with his signature sound. I’m a sucker for classic R&B songs that get revamped by house music producers, and Le Youth is the master of perfectly harmonizing together these two genres.
Also be sure to listen to “C O O L” (you probably know it by now), “Feel Your Love” and “R E A L” as well as his numerous remixes. He does a killer remix of The Knocks that brings you right back to 90s bliss.
NEW SONG: Snakehips - “Gone”
Snakehips just released a NEW song called “Gone”. What do you think? Personal opinion is it’s pretty smooth. It’s a laid back, hazy tune that’s perfect for a night in from the winter cold.
Future Bass Perfection
For the Love of Drum & Bass
I love drum & bass. It has so much energy and such a wonderful build up that bursts into this amazing, rhythmic beat. It’s especially good when you combine that driving beat with some killer vocals.
“Heartbeat Loud” is a stunner. Anything that begins with a good piano riff is a winner to me. The song opens with a brilliant, uplifting piano that introduces Fiora’s amazing vocals. Andy C then slowly begins building the beat, layer by layer, driving it more uptempo until….boom. Drum & bass to full effect – a steady, syncopating pulse that is just sooo good. Andy C lays out his composition as if it is an actual heartbeat continuously racing.
I also want to note that I’m a huge fan of Fiora. She’s an incredible singer who is extremely versatile in that she has collaborated with deep house, trance and bass artists – not boxing her vocals into one electronic genre. Her repertoire includes songs with trance heavyweights like Armin van Buuren, Markus Schulz, Arty and Antillas as well as deep house producer Tensnake. She has also lent her airy, smooth vocals to bass artists Seven Lions and Andy C. To me, Fiora always brings you to a next level of feeling with her vocals, no matter what song she’s singing. For me it’s a feeling of nostalgia and maybe even longing?
Anyway check out “Heartbeat Loud” at the links below. So obsessed with this song.

Review: Bob Sinclar ft. CeCe Rogers - “I Want You”
Bob Sinclar’s newest single is a summery slice of house music. Featuring a muted-down version of CeCe Rogers’ vocals, “I Want You” evokes Miami parties and sun lounging in Ibiza. Sinclar incorporates a simple yet classic house beat with minimal piano chords, while Rogers’ soulful vocals keep the song churning forward. It’s a light, breezy track that reminds me of the summer season – refreshing drinks, light beats and hot, sizzling vibes.
Bob Sinclar was one of the first DJ/producers that I got into when I started listening to house music, and he was the first DJ whose set I saw live. It’s great that Sinclar released one more gem of a song before the end of 2014.

Miami Music Week
After a very stressful few months of work and successfully pulling off a great client event, I needed to get out of the stuffiness that D.C. can be and head to sunny Miami. Miami Music Week was a refreshing break from work that allowed me to let out some serious steam and be wrapped up in amazing music.
I've been to Ultra Music Festival before but this time I wanted to experience the day parties and see what else happens in the city. First pool party we went to was the All Gone Pete Tong party which was my slice of house heaven. The lineup included Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, MK, Oliver Heldens, Nathan Barato and many more. We then popped over to the Clevelanders to see Arty play.
Next up on the list was the Anjunabeats party at the Raleigh Hotel. The party was in a beautiful space with a chill crowd and ample space to dance and then relax when you needed a break. The lineup included Mat Zo, Norin & Rad, Audien, Arty and Matt Lange. I was planning to stay till the end so I could see Seven Lions play but my crazy friends decided that we make an impromptu appearance for the last hour of Ultra for Paul Van Dyk's closing set. And...it was so worth it.
